I belong to an established research group with specific interest in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). My main responsibilities are to carry out original research within a range of subjects (mostly GIS related), and to subsequently report my findings in the academic literature. Areas of special interest include terrain modelling, automated cartography (map generalization), disaster management, automated environmental change detection, spatial data error modelling, spatial indexing, multi-scale data structures, location based services (mobile GIS) and analysis and mapping of crime data.
